Purchasing a car outright can be a scary moment for some—especially from a private owner. But Christopher McKenty’s lists this as one of his greatest achievements.
McKenty, twenty years old of Tolland, spends his time buying, fixing, and selling trucks. He saved his money for about three years to purchase a new truck. McKenty was unsure of what he wanted to purchase. Being a fan of Ford trucks, McKenty previously owned a 1995 Ford F150.
In November 2012, McKenty was browsing craigslist.org for potential trucks. He stumbled upon a 2004 Ford F150 and says, “It was a great price” and could not resist. McKenty purchased the F150 outright from the seller.
Buying from private owners can be risky, but McKenty says, “You gotta it risk it to get the biscuit.” He goes on to say, “You can never prepare for life,” but with his experience in fixing trucks, it is arguable he is fairly prepared.
